Dog Training for Building Confidence

Helping Nervous Pups Find Their Inner Brave

Every dog deserves to feel safe, secure, and confident in the world around them. My confidence-building classes are designed especially for nervous, shy, or fearful dogs who need a little extra support.

Whether your pup startles at new sounds, avoids other dogs, or hesitates to explore, I’m here to help them grow at their own pace – using gentle, reward-based training that builds trust and resilience.

Confidence Grows in the Little Moments

Sometimes, a confident dog starts with something as simple as stepping onto a new surface or making eye contact. We celebrate every tiny milestone, creating a series of positive experiences that gently guide your dog out of their shell and into their bravery.

What to Expect:

🐾 Go-at-your-own-pace structure tailored to each dog’s comfort level
🐾 Plenty of small wins to build momentum and self-assurance
🐾 Positive, reward-based methods that nurture trust and optimism
🐾 Calm, supportive environment with minimal stress or overstimulation
🐾 Personalised guidance based on your dog’s individual needs

We go at your dog’s pace, always. There’s no rushing, no pressure – just encouragement, patience, and a whole lot of treats and praise for every small victory.

Are these types of Classes Right for Your Dog?

These classes are a great fit if your dog:

  • Is shy or timid, or gets overwhelmed in new environments
  • Struggles with separation or social anxiety
  • Is hesitant around people, sounds, or other dogs
  • Lacks confidence due to limited early socialisation or a rough past
  • Needs a confidence boost to enjoy daily life more fully

Why It Works

Confidence isn’t built in big leaps – it’s built in baby steps. By creating safe, success-filled experiences, we help your dog discover that the world isn’t so scary after all. Over time, those little wins add up to a big change: a dog who feels more secure, more curious, and more connected to you.

Why It Matters

Confidence doesn’t just help your dog feel better – it also builds a stronger bond between you. When your dog learns to trust themselves and their surroundings, they begin to bloom. With patience and the right guidance, nervous dogs can absolutely become happy, secure companions.

Let’s Help Your Dog Shine

Whether your pup needs a gentle nudge or just a space to grow, I’m here for the journey.

Confidence Through Dog Parkour

Movement, Mindset, and Small Wins That Add Up

Dog parkour is a low-impact, confidence-boosting activity where dogs interact with everyday objects – stepping up, climbing over, balancing on, or going around obstacles in creative, safe ways. It’s not about flashy tricks—it’s about building trust, body awareness, and a sense of “I can do this!” in your dog’s own time.

Why Parkour for Nervous Dogs?

Confidence is built by doing, and canine parkour offers gentle, achievable challenges that help dogs explore new textures, heights, and movement—all while receiving constant encouragement. Each success (even something as simple as putting paws on a bench!) gives your dog a confidence boost they can carry into the world beyond class.

What Your Dog Will Learn

  • Navigating obstacles like curbs, low walls, logs, and benches
  • Building core strength and body control
  • Making choices and solving problems with confidence
  • Trusting their own abilities—and their human partner
  • Turning the outside world into a fun and safe playground

Who These Classes Are For

Dog Parkour is perfect for dogs who:

  • Are nervous or cautious in new environments
  • Startle easily or lack body confidence
  • Need positive experiences with novelty and movement
  • Benefit from structure, encouragement, and gentle challenge

A Journey, Not a Race

There’s no “right” speed in my parkour classes. Whether your dog is ready to climb onto a platform or simply sniff it today, we celebrate every brave moment. It’s all about building a foundation of trust and success that can grow week by week—and carry over into everyday life.

Let’s Help Your Dog Discover Their Brave

Confidence isn’t born—it’s built, one small victory at a time.

Confidence Through Barn Hunt

Sniff, Search, and Succeed – One Win at a Time

For nervous or uncertain dogs, Barn Hunt can be an incredible way to unlock natural instincts, build resilience, and discover just how brave they really are. My confidence-building Barn Hunt classes are designed with sensitive, shy, or anxious dogs in mind.

Using straw bales, scent tubes, and problem-solving games, dogs are encouraged to explore at their own pace, using their nose and body in empowering, playful ways. Every small success – every sniff, every climb, every discovery – is a step toward a more confident dog.

Why Barn Hunt for Nervous Dogs?

Barn Hunt taps into your dog’s natural scenting and hunting instincts in a safe, structured environment. This isn’t about competition – this is about connection and confidence.

  • Encourages curiosity and exploration
  • Builds focus, problem-solving skills, and independence
  • Provides rewarding challenges that are low-pressure and fun
  • Helps dogs feel empowered in new environments
  • Turns everyday movement and scentwork into confidence fuel

Whether your dog finds a hidden tube or simply chooses to climb a straw bale for the first time, we celebrate every tiny victory. Over time, these wins build up into something powerful: a dog who trusts themselves, their nose, their surroundings, and you!

Real-World Confidence, Built on Straw and Scent

The beauty of Barn Hunt is that the confidence your dog gains doesn’t stop at the straw bale. Dogs leave my classes more empowered to explore new environments, handle unexpected challenges, and approach the world with curiosity instead of fear.

Let’s Help Your Dog Discover Their Inner Hunter

Whether in a quiet group or a private session, we’ll help your dog find their brave – sniff by sniff, climb by climb, win by win.

1-2-1 and Online Training:

Group classes aren’t always the right fit for anxious or sensitive dogs – and that’s absolutely okay. My custom one-to-one and online sessions are designed to meet your dog where they are, in a safe, calm environment where they can truly thrive. Whether in-person or from the comfort of your home, we’ll take things at your dog’s pace and build a plan that supports their confidence, comfort, and well-being.

With bespoke training, you’ll get quiet, focused time to explore what works best for your individual dog – whether that’s reducing stress on walks, building resilience, or just helping them feel safer in the world. Together, we’ll gently guide them forward, step by step.

Are you ready to help your dog feel more secure and supported? Let’s create a gentle, custom plan together.
